At least kinda-sorta. At least chapter breaks for now. :) So, here is your dose of MaeNo excerpts from Chapter 2!

I had expected to leave the capital directly, garbed in secrecy and good intentions, but nothing was farther from what really happened. Instead, day after day dragged by as my wardrobe was prepared, my identity as Anara the dressmaker created and recreated, and my needlework and swordsmanship pulled to shreds by craft masters and rebuilt from the ground upward.

I'm in the process of posting the stories I wrote over the past few months and didn't post because I was lazy.

They met in early summer, when the first of the summer flowers were beginning to push up from the earth, seeking sunlight. He found in her intensity and passion for life excitement, she found in him everything she’d ever hoped for. A handful of dinners, half as many walks in the park, and she had a ring.

I've decided I'm going to change a little how this journal works. As more non-LJ people (as in, people who can't read friendslocked entries) have begun to read my other journal (cindylouwho2006), I've started putting more creative stuff up there. But I really like having the ability to point people to this journal to see a record of past writing stuff I've done. So. From now on, this will be more of an archive.

I'm also going to put icons here, if I put them anywhere, just to keep that out of my regular one. See, I'm trying to be organized here. Be proud. =)

I don't write poetry.
Oh, I used to –
Page upon page
Verse after verse
The song of my heart
—solidified—
put onto paper.
But somewhere
between the beginning and the middle
I looked up and saw how much more
—brilliant—
the heart songs of others were
giving life to a paper
(and to a soul).
And so I don't write poetry.
But sometimes
when I forget a little bit of what I've
—decided—
I do it anyway
let the music flow
out of me, into it
molten gold that you can neither see nor hear—
only feel.
And then . . .
Then for a moment I am
—peaceful—
. . . at least until I find a book of Sara Teasdale.

Okay, I am officially done with draft 2, but I just added a scene and would reeeeeally like comments on it. Is my grammar ok? Does it flow with the rest of the story? Does it end all right or does it need to continue all the way to the good-bye at the airport (that especially I need to know!).

Also, I don't know what this new revelation says about Katie, but for the record I've always known this. So... yeah. I didn't quite make it up.

One other interesting fact about holding onto the past: in the beginning when Mariah checks her email and mentions the wall paper with a picture of two little girls she didn't know? That was the twins (in draft two "two little girls" is changed to "twin" girls so that that's not QUITE so vague). =)

So anyway... PLEASE READ IT! It's very very short (like half a page or less!). Promise. And more importantly, PLEASE COMMENT and tell me if I need to change something!

This is a rewritten scene from my NaNovel, rewritten on purpose to include David, who wasn't around enough in draft 1 (currently halfway through draft 2 at the moment). Does it work? What do I need to change? PLEASE tell me. =)
